A
WALK AROUND HATHERN PARISH CHURCH
The
Rector, Churchwardens and members of Hathern Parish Church warmly
welcome you to the church and invite you to browse around and
inspect the building.
The
church, dedicated to Saint Peter and Saint Paul, is an ancient
foundation. It was most likely established in Saxon times, for
Hathern itself pre-dates the Domesday Survey.
The
first recorded rector took office in 1220. The present church
is basically 14th century, but was restored in 1860-61 as a memorial
to a saintly, much loved rector, Revd E M T Phillipps who, for
fifty years, ministered to the parish needs, both spiritual and
temporal.
